Artist Statement

Mathieux Marie is a celebrated French printmaker in the classic tradition. His prints are in many international libraries and museums as well as numerous private collections. Originally trained as an architect at the Beaux-Arts school in Paris his understanding and love of architectural forms is evident in all of his prints. His sense of light, depth and texture give his drypoint engravings a unique atmosphere and mood.
