Artist Statement Each Takuji Kubo engraving reflects months of intense work. By looking through a magnifying glass one can see the thousands of thin lines that weave together to form his images. The engraving process allows Takuji to fully explore the surfaces of his imagery and convey precise detail. By carefully controlling his lines he creates subtle shifts between light and dark that give his prints a distinct richness and depth.
